Book Signing at Omnivore Books on Food

A little over a week ago, I was fortunate enough to do a book signing at Omnivore Books On Food in San Francisco. Since I’m from northern California, I was pretty excited to be doing an event so close to where I grew up.

Omnivore is an adorable little book shop, filled only with cookbooks. Sounds like a dream, right? Originally this shop, when the building was first built, before it was ever a bookstore, it was a butcher shop. The irony of my doing a talk about veganism in a former butcher shop did not escape me.

The event went really, really well. There was a great turn-out and some of the people there weren’t even my friends or family which was exciting. People asked great questions during the Q&A period and it felt really good to be talking to people about going vegan (even though I was bat-shit crazy nervous before I got to the store).

My family came which meant a lot to me because I know veganism and vegan cooking is not really their thing. They came to support me and it really meant the world to me.

I had some friends in San Francisco who came and some friends who came up from San Jose (even one of my former personal training clients!). Again, I felt so fortunate to have such an incredible group of people who support and encourage me. I love these guys!

Thank you so much to Omnivore Books On Food for having me- you have a beautiful shop and it was an honor to speak there. Thank you so much to everyone who came out (friends, family, and you lovely people I hadn’t met before) to listen to me talk. I can’t tell you how much it warmed my heart. I was giddy the entire rest of the day.

Also, thank you to my friends and family for taking all of these pictures and sharing them with me!
