Growing up, the Superbowl was a holiday in my family. Maybe not as big as Christmas, but definitely bigger than Easter. It was just about tied with Thanksgiving. Somehow, I managed to marry a man who loves football (and could care less about other sports) just as much as my family does. After Christmas, the countdown to this tremendous occasion begins. Because Chris loves this day so much, I try to make it extra special for him, making him all kinds of typical man-food/game day treats. That's my favorite part of the day. That and the puppy bowl.
If you're trying to figure out what to serve at your Vegan Super Bowl Party, perhaps one (or more) of the following main dishes will have your guests yelling louder for seconds than for their favorite team:
Nacho Potatoes
Mini BBQ Soy Curl Taco Bowls with Pickled Onions
Buffalo Cauliflower Wing Pizza
Chickpea Sloppy Joes
The Philly Reuben Sandwich
Mini Black Bean & Sweet Potato Taco Bowls
Savory Sage & Flower Burgers
Jackfruit Enchiladas
Three Pea Chili
Falafel Tacos with Sriracha Tahini Sauce
Other great options would be Cadry's Black Bean Taco Pizza or Melissa's Corndog Muffins.
Maybe a few of these side dishes or snacks will keep your guest's energy up between quarters:
Spicy Sweet Potato Fries
Maple-Glazed Cinnamon Roasted Chickpeas
Sun-Dried Tomato Sriracha Hummus
Homemade Potato Chips
Soft Pretzel Bread
If you want a good dip for your veggies, try Kathy's Ranch Dressing- it's one of my favorites. I also think that Marly's Jalapeño Poppers may need to make an appearance.
And maybe a couple of these desserts will calm them down after the other team makes a touchdown:
Ultimate Quadruple Chocolate Chip Cookies
S'more Cookies
Platinum Blondies
Salted Caramel Chocolate Chip Cookies
Deluxe Chocolate Marshmallow Bars
Whatever you end up serving your guests, I hope you all have a wonderful game day!

I hope you two have a fantastic "holiday" at home! 🙂
Annie
Who could focus on the game with all of those goodies?!
keepinitkind
I know I certainly couldn't- I have a mental block when it comes to watching football!
Richgail @AstigVegan
Wow!! Thank you so much for this great list. I just forwarded them to my friends. So many great dishes so little time. Hmm decisions, decisions.Go Niners!
keepinitkind
Yay! A niners fan! I don't really follow football, but I was raised a niners fan so I think I'm supposed to be excited for them. 🙂
Thank you, Richgail for sharing with your friends. You are just so great!

Oh man, do I have time to book a flight and invite myself to your super bowl party? Justin and I are not football fans and the only sport I really enjoy is Hockey 🙂 So we will be feasting on snacks and playing scrabble on Sunday 🙂 that is unless I get on that flight and show up on your doorstep - what fan gear should I be wearing?
keepinitkind
We are so much alike- Scrabble is my most favorite game. I could play it for hours!
You and Justing are totally invited this Sunday, or any Sunday, for that matter. And I think we're rooting for the niners... 🙂
Alex @ Delicious-Knowledge.com
I love these! I make lentil sloppy joes all the time but have never tried using chickpeas. Going to try that this weekend. Also stealing the jack fruit enchiladas idea! My list of yummy, vegan Superbowl picks: http://delicious-knowledge.com/?p=2553

Thanks, Alex! The chickpea sloppy joes are definitely a favorite around here!
I'm heading over right now to check out your round-up! 🙂

Thanks! 🙂

dude.. our team lost! you should have seen that game.. it was insane.. we scored in the last minute and were leading finally and then they scored in the last 30 seconds.. it not like i am a huge fan.. but there was so much yelling that i went to watch the last quarter with hubbs:) if you ask me the net day, i wouldnt remember the team we played:D
this is an awesome round up!! i might make some goodies for viv too.. though he is so lost in the game sometimes, he keeps stuff around within chewies reach(chewie wont take anything from above a certain table height, everything else is his) and i would never know who ate what;)

Richa, I totally admire you for watching football with your husband. I try so hard and I can stay interested for about 5 minutes, 10 max, then I lose focus. I have a mental block towards football. Even when Chris talks about it, my eyes glaze over. If it were any other sport, I'd be fine. I actually really like baseball. Football, well, meh.
Sam is just like Chewie. Dining table- she doesn't dare. Nightstand- she doesn't dare. Coffee table, well, if we're not looking, she'll actually crawl on top of the coffee table and go to town with whatever's there. She hasn't done that in awhile, though. 🙂
I hope you and the hubbs have a fantastic weekend! xoxo

Awesome round up! Everything looks soooooooo delicious!!!!! I will likely watch the game on Sunday even though I rarely watch NFL. I am heading to my parents' place and I know my dad will have the game on. I may just bring one of your dishes to share with the family 🙂
keepinitkind
I haven't seen a game all season, but I will likely half-watch this game (while I read a book and snack 😉 ). I hope you have a fantastic weekend, love! xx
Herbivore Triathlete
The food if my favorite part of Superbowl! All those recipes look amazingly delicious, thanks for a fantastic round up!
keepinitkind
Thanks! And me too- the food is the best part! And the puppy bowl. My stepkids and I can watch that for hours... 🙂
Cadry
Oh, my gosh! So many mouthwatering options here! I'm not into football AT ALL. (I'm not even sure who's playing; although, I know that the football team from San Francisco is one of the teams. But I don't know their name.) However, I'd love to come to your Super Bowl party. I promise I'd yell and cheer. But it would just be about the flavor explosion in my mouth.
Thanks for linking to my taco pizza! It's good for even those of us who are clueless about football! 🙂
keepinitkind
Cadry, you are not alone. I am soooo not into football either. I have a mental block towards it and it's been there for as long as I could remember. Even in grade school, when we would get quizzed on the rules of different sports, I could never remember ANYTHING about football. Coming from a football-loving, Niners-fan family, I appreciate the super bowl for what it is and have fun with it. Even though I'll probably be reading a book and watching the puppy bowl on my computer. 😉
And you are more than welcome to come to our super bowl "party." As long as you bring some taco pizza. 🙂
Stephanie
Hahaha I agree with Cadry! I'm not into football, but I am into food, and if I could go to any Superbowl party I wanted, I would totally go to yours! 🙂
keepinitkind
You both are totally invited, though I think you would have to have left, like, yesterday to be here in time, right? 🙂 And I'm totally with you gals- I could care less about the game. I'm in it for the food and the cute dogs at the puppy bowl.
Dawn @ Florida Coastal Cooking
What a great lineup girl! I did a super bowl thing last minute so I didn't make anything but these recipes look great for ANY day!
keepinitkind
THanks, Dawn! I'm sure your super bowl spread was fantastic! 🙂
